When you think about setting goals, how do you feel? Excited by a new opportunity? Or exhausted by the thought of something more? Confused about where to start? Dismay or less-than-hopeful?
It is well documented that we humans need to be working towards something, an outcome, a target, a goal, in order to have a sense of happiness and well-being. Progress on our goals leads to more positive emotions and more satisfaction with life. It is how we were meant to live. Knowing how to create and work towards the right goals for you is crucial.
We also know that striving towards the wrong goal can leave us feeling unmotivated and unsuccessful. Worse yet, achieving the wrong goal can leave us feeling hollow and unfulfilled.
A life well-lived, in balance, with a feeling of well-being and happiness is, in itself, a goal worthy of our time, consideration and effort.
Your challenge for today is to take action and dream a little about how you where you would like to be in 5 or 10 years, what kind of person do you want to be? What is the best possible life you can imagine? Creating a clear vision is the first step.
If you feel resistance to the process, know that is normal and check out the Sedona Method for specific steps on letting all that negativity go and making room for something new.
